Naegleria Fowleri

Naegleria Fowleri

~a water born amoeba that thrives and multiplies in the heat of the summer in fresh water ways including lakes, rivers, ponds and hot springs.

Although rare, fatality rate is 99% so in Kyle's memory, we are dedicated to spreading the awareness of this horrible amoeba so others can be armed with the information and will have a choice.

The Kyle Lewis Amoeba Awareness Foundation has been established to inform families of the potential danger of Naegleria Fowleri. Through education and awareness, our HOPE is to save lives and heartache for other families.

Kyle Lewis Amoeba Awareness Foundation

Kyle Gracin Lewis was a beautiful healthy 7 year old who loved life…swimming, baseball, camping, and riding his dirt bike…he was 100% boy! On Aug 29th, 2010 he passed away from Primary Amoebic Meningoecephalitis (PAM) which was caused by a water-born amoeba called Naegleria Fowleri.  Kyle was infected with this amoeba just days prior while swimming with his family during a camping trip before he started 2nd grade.  His family is now dedicated to making others
AWARE of this AMOEBA.

Please visit Kyle's website for more information on
Awareness, the Foundation, and how to help spread the awareness.
